An authorised third party for the Arizona MVD, at the counter in Tucson

Arizona Auto License has run four offices in Tucson since 2002. The work is title transfers, registration, permits, inspections, driver licences and notary signatures, done at the counter rather than mailed off and waited on. Staff are bilingual, se habla español, and the business is licensed, bonded and insured.

What that actually means

An authorised third party, explained plainly

The Arizona Motor Vehicle Department authorises certain offices to handle the same title and registration work the state itself would otherwise process. Arizona Auto License is one of those offices. Bring a title transfer, a registration renewal, a permit or a notary document to the counter, and it is filed the same way it would be at an MVD window, just without the drive across town or the wait in line.

That authorisation is also why every transaction carries two line items, not one: the state fee, set by Arizona and identical no matter where it is paid, and a convenience fee for using this counter instead of the government one. Both are posted on the wall in every office before you are asked to pay either.

The fee schedule posted on the wall inside the Tucson office, listing state and convenience fees.

Who oversees a third party

The state, not the business behind the counter

Being an authorised third party means the Arizona Motor Vehicle Department holds this office to its own standards, and it publishes an address for exactly that reason. Any complaint about a third-party provider, this one included, goes directly to the state:

ADOT MVD Third Party Administration

P.O. Box 2100, Mail Drop 532M
Phoenix, AZ 85007-2100

It is posted in every office alongside the fee board, the same way it is written here.
